Though Tim and I agree on most of the script, we had different ideas when it came to the end of the script. The last two scenes of the script can go two different ways. I believed that the story should have a full circle moment at the end. (In the next posts, my versions are alternate 2 for scenes 12 and 13.) After the crash, the shot will cut back to the same classroom as the beginning of the movie. "Young Tyler" and the D.A.R.E. officer will have a conversation about how he should pay attention, implying that all of the scenes beforehand were a dream.
Tim's idea is not to cut back to the classroom, but to show the aftermath of Tyler's crash. (His versions are alternate 1 for scenes 12 and 13.) In scene 12, a montage-like blend of clips will show Tyler unconscious and possibly being taken to the hospital. Scene 13 will be Tyler at a funeral, implying that the crash killed the person in the other vehicle.
The next two posts will be scenes 12 and 13, both alternates shown.
